The Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry at Dr. Ithape Institute of D. Pharmacy is an interdisciplinary branch of science that focuses on the design, synthesis, identification, development, and analysis of New Chemical Entities (NCEs). This study helps students understand the mechanism of drug action at the molecular level, combining theory with practical learning.

Modern approaches such as Quantitative Structure Activity Relationship (QSAR), Computer-Aided Drug Design, UV Spectroscopy, and Infrared Spectroscopy are used to explore the chemical nature of drugs. Our students are trained in the application of modern information systems and scientific technologies in drug discovery, safety assessment, and efficacy studies.

The department is equipped with state-of-the-art laboratories that cover different branches of pharmaceutical chemistry including physical, analytical, organic, inorganic, biochemical, and medicinal chemistry. For undergraduate students, these labs provide hands-on experience with advanced equipment, ensuring strong conceptual and practical foundations.
